NPG publishes details of Constraint Management Zones (CMZs), flexible capacity needed, and service windows on Piclo. Providers wishing to participate must have eligible assets within these zones and complete company qualification.

Key details

Bidding takes place on Piclo every month. Ceiling prices are displayed alongside each CMZ. When decisioning bids, NPG prioritises operational assets over planned assets.
NPG uses the SA+OU product (variable dispatch dependent on network need) for their month-ahead procurement. Providers receive dispatch instructions from Piclo via API, UI or email.
Submit half hourly meter data via Piclo. The provider is paid an availability fee and a utilisation fee.
