Residential customers with eligible smart thermostats can enroll to allow remote adjustments during summer peak events.

Key details

Customers receive a $75 rebate for new thermostat purchase or $50 for enrolling existing thermostats, and $25/year for continued participation.
Thermostats are adjusted remotely by AEP Ohio during up to 16 demand response events per summer.
Participants receive a recurring incentive for each year they allow dispatch participation.
