Must be an active Community Power residential customer; Customers who have opted out must return to Community Power to be eligible; System equipment must be interconnected and permitted by the appropriate local permitting jurisdiction; Battery must be fully charged by on-site solar (no grid charging allowed); Battery cannot simultaneously be participating (or enrolling) in any other active demand response programs (e.g., emergency load relief program (“ELRP”), demand side grid support (“DSGS”); Battery systems must be installed after the Community Power application is submitted; The interconnection application must be dated after the contractor has been approved for the program. Please note, as we will not be able to check for that until the PTO letter is received.

Key details

No bidding. The program may provide two financial incentives for participating customers: an upfront incentive (for CARE/FERA & Communities of Concern customers) to minimize the initial cost of the battery system, and a performance incentive for a daily dispatch of the battery to maximize benefits for the customer and the grid. The performance incentive is based on the percentage of battery capacity that a participant dispatches to their home and/or to the grid during a preset window that aligns with the on-peak periods
Customers will be eligible for Performance Battery Storage Incentive ($0.10/kWh) for peak events. Events will be 2-hours.
At the end of the calendar year, SDCP will perform the quarterly incentive calculations and then process the cumulative calendar year incentive earnings to be paid directly to the participant based on the address on the application. That process will continue for 10 years post-initial enrollment in the Program unless the participant chooses to unenroll
