SSEN publishes details of Constraint Management Zones (CMZs), flexible capacity needed, and service windows. Providers wishing to participate must have eligible assets within these zones.

Key details

Bidding takes place in February, May and September every year.
SSEN uses the VAOU product for their long term procurement, which has month-ahead availability confirmation and week-ahead dispatch instructions. Dispatch instructions are sent by phone, email and API.
The provider is paid an availability fee and a utilisation fee.
