What is Piclo Max?

Piclo Max is a platform designed for Flexibility Service Providers (FSPs), enabling them to access and participate in multiple electricity markets through one interface. It streamlines market engagement, simplifies participation, and maximises portfolio potential by offering a single point of access to various markets, contrasting with Piclo Flex, which is tailored for System Operators' market hosting needs.

What is changing for me?

The new Piclo Max dashboard offers a comprehensive view of your market opportunities, featuring a revenue estimation , key market dates, and 'The Stack' which highlights opportunities in the market for your portfolio, and the next best action, There will be further enhancements to streamline asset input, company qualification, and bidding actions alongside security updates such as multi-factor-authentication.

How do I log in to Piclo Max?

Existing Flexibility Service Providers can log into their Piclo Max accounts using the same username and password as Piclo Flex, ensuring a smooth transition to the new platform. If you are new to Piclo, sign up to Piclo Max.

What does Piclo Max cost?

Presently, participation in all local flexibility markets for Piclo Flexibility Service Providers is free of charge.

For flexibility markets not using Piclo Flex as their procurement platform, a nominal 2.5% Service Fee is charged by Piclo to the System Operator after settlement. FSPs retain 100% of their value.Flexibility Service Providers will be asked to acknowledge the Service Fee arrangement per System Operator after migration to Piclo Max; read details about Market Specific Terms.

What markets can I access via Piclo Max?

With Piclo Max, Flexibility Service Providers (FSPs) can access a comprehensive range of electricity markets through a single, seamless interface. Currently, the platform facilitates entry into local flexibility markets in the UK, including:

DSO Markets:
• Electricity North West Limited
• SP Energy Networks
• Northern Powergrid
• National Grid Electricity Distribution (week ahead from June 2024)

We’re working with UK Power Networks and Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks to ensure FSPs can access all markets by the autumn tender rounds.

ESO Market:
• Local Constraint Market (LCM)

We will be expanding our offerings to include access to the wholesale market later in 2024.

How can Piclo Max streamline my market participation process?

Existing Flexibility Service Providers can access their Max accounts with the same Piclo username and password, ensuring a seamless transition to the new platform. If you are new to Piclo, sign up to Piclo Max.

Will I still be able to use my API set up? When is this changing?

API users will experience no change to their API integrations and environment. All endpoints, API keys and user credentials will remain the same until further notice.

Will I be able to access my old contracts & data?

Yes, all your existing data, including assets, contracts, bids, and dispatches, will be seamlessly transferred to Piclo Max. As a UK Piclo Flex user, you'll be automatically enrolled in Piclo Max, maintaining access to familiar features and benefiting from new enhancements that simplify and enhance market participation.

Where can I find Flex competitions?

All of the existing functionality on the Piclo platform can be accessed using Piclo Max. Access to Piclo Flex’s local flexibility markets is now part of the Piclo Max ecosystem. All your Flex data is accessible in Piclo Max in the same way. You can find all local flexibility competitions along with other markets at piclomax.com/dashboard.

Is Piclo Exchange affected?

Piclo Flex’s Exchange functionality allows secondary trading of contracts between users, currently for Capacity Market agreements. Exchange is now located at piclomax.com/exchange, and all previous listings and bids are preserved.
